"Knowing Me as the enjoyer of all sacrifices, the great Lord of all worlds, the friend of all beings — one attains peace."
Bhagavad Gītā 5.29

KARMA-SANNYĀSA: study the shared destination of sāṅkhya and yoga, act without clinging, contemplate the embodied one in the nine-gated city, examine equal vision through conduct, approach breath discipline responsibly, and know Krishna as enjoyer of yajña and tapas and friend of all beings. None of these is a natal score.

1. Arjuna asks about renunciation and yoga · BG 5.1-6

Textual teaching: Arjuna asks Krishna to state decisively whether renunciation or the yoga of action is better. Krishna praises both, places karma-yoga as the more accessible discipline, describes the true renunciant beyond attraction and aversion, and joins sāṅkhya and yoga in one fruit while warning that renunciation without yoga is difficult.

Reader reflection: Study how disciplined action and renunciation of possessiveness can converge in actual conduct; a birth chart does not choose one path or certify its fruit.

2. Act with a purified self and relinquish the fruit · BG 5.7-12

Textual teaching: The disciplined yogin acts without being bound, understands seeing, hearing, touching, eating, moving, sleeping, breathing, speaking, releasing, grasping, and opening or closing the eyes as movements of the senses, places actions in Brahman without attachment, and relinquishes action-fruits for peace.

Reader reflection: Before an action, name what is being offered; afterward, release the claim that its fruit establishes your worth.

3. The nine-gated city, agency, ignorance, and knowledge · BG 5.13-16

Textual teaching: The self-controlled embodied one mentally relinquishes actions in the city of nine gates. The text then distinguishes the Lord from created agency, action, and their union, says beings proceed through their own nature, and describes ignorance as covering knowledge until knowledge reveals the supreme like the sun.

Reader reflection: Use the traditional enumeration to notice sensory and bodily activity without converting the openings into planetary strengths or medical claims.

Truth boundary: BG 5.13 names a nine-gated city but does not enumerate its openings or assign grahas to them. The separate nine-opening table is a connected traditional enumeration, not additional words inserted into the verse.

4. Knowledge, equal vision, steadiness, and inward happiness · BG 5.17-21

।5.17।। ।5.21।।

Textual teaching: Those whose understanding, self, steadfastness, and refuge are in That move toward non-return as knowledge removes impurity. The wise are described as equal-seeing across the learned and humble brāhmaṇa, cow, elephant, dog, and dog-eater; the sequence continues through equality, steadiness amid pleasant and unpleasant experience, and happiness found within rather than in external contact.

Reader reflection: Let treatment of beings, especially where status or preference differs, be the field of examination. A yoga, doṣa, transit, or planetary aspect cannot certify equal vision.

Truth boundary: Vidhyamitra does not assign Paṇḍita-grade, liberation, conquest of rebirth, or sama-darśana attainment to a living reader from a horoscope.

5. Turn from contact-born pleasures toward enduring peace · BG 5.22-26

Textual teaching: Contact-born enjoyments are described as sources of suffering because they have beginning and end. The sequence names bearing desire and anger before bodily release, happiness and light within, the destruction of faults and doubt, delight in the welfare of all beings, and Brahman-peace for those free from desire and anger who know the self.

Reader reflection: Use the verses for accountable self-examination without claiming that an astrological placement proves freedom, purity, peace, or liberation.

6. Contemplative restraint and Krishna as the friend of all beings · BG 5.27-29

Textual teaching: The closing movement describes excluding external contacts, directing the gaze, equalizing prāṇa and apāna, restraining senses, mind, and intellect, and freedom from desire, fear, and anger. It culminates in knowing Krishna as enjoyer of yajña and tapas, great Lord of all worlds, and friend of all beings, and thereby attaining peace.

Reader reflection: Read the sequence in context and seek qualified instruction for breath practice. Offer action without inventing a chart-specific Krishna or using planets to certify peace.

Truth boundary: This textual study is not medical advice, a prāṇāyāma diagnosis, or proof of liberation. A horoscope does not determine which form of Krishna receives a reader’s offering or whether peace has been attained.

Connected tradition · the nine gates

BG 5.13 says nava-dvāre pure, "in the city of nine gates". The verse does not enumerate those gates. The table preserves a common later bodily enumeration as connected tradition and does not assign planetary rulers, strengths, or diagnoses.

Chapter-wide truth boundary: BG 5 remains a teaching about action, renunciation, non-attachment, the embodied city, equal vision, contemplative restraint, offering, and peace. A horoscope does not measure sama-darśana, bodily-gate strength, breathing aptitude, liberation, divine acceptance, or spiritual worth.
