सूतजी कहते हैं— शौनकादि ऋषियो! भगवान् पुरुषोत्तमकी यह कमनीय कीर्ति-कथा जन्म-मृत्युरूप संसारके भयको मिटानेवाली है। यह व्यासनन्दन भगवान् श्रीशुकदेवजीके मुखारविन्दसे निकली हुई सुरभिमयी मधुमयी सुधाधारा है। इस संसारके लंबे पथका जो बटोही अपने कानोंके दोनोंसे इसका निरन्तर पान करता रहता है, उसकी सारी थकावट, जो जगत्में इधर-उधर भटकनेसे होती है, दूर हो जाती है॥ २१॥
