Translation
The Supreme Lord’s awareness is never disturbed by time, by the creation and destruction of the universe, by changes in its own qualities, or by anything else, whether self-caused or external. But although the consciousness of the Personality of Godhead, who is the supreme one without a second, is never affected by material distress, by the reactions of material work or by the constant flow of nature’s modes, ordinary persons nonetheless think that the Lord is covered by His own creations of prāṇa and other material elements, just as one may think that the sun is covered by clouds, snow or an eclipse.

नारदजीने कहा— ऋषियो! यह कोई आश्चर्यकी बात नहीं है कि वसुदेवजी श्रीकृष्णको अपना बालक समझकर शुद्ध जिज्ञासाके भावसे अपने कल्याणका साधन हमलोगोंसे पूछ रहे हैं॥ ३०॥ संसारमें बहुत पास रहना मनुष्योंके अनादरका कारण हुआ करता है। देखते हैं, गंगातटपर रहनेवाला पुरुष गंगाजल छोड़कर अपनी शुद्धिके लिये दूसरे तीर्थमें जाता है॥ ३१॥ श्रीकृष्णकी अनुभूति समयके फेरसे होनेवाली जगत्की सृष्टि, स्थिति और प्रलयसे मिटनेवाली नहीं है। वह स्वत: किसी दूसरे निमित्तसे, गुणोंसे और किसीसे भी क्षीण नहीं होती॥ ३२॥ उनका ज्ञानमय स्वरूप अविद्या, राग-द्वेष आदि क्लेश, पुण्य-पापमय कर्म, सुख-दु:खादि कर्मफल तथा सत्त्व आदि गुणोंके प्रवाहसे खण्डित नहीं है। वे स्वयं अद्वितीय परमात्मा हैं। जब वे अपनेको अपनी ही शक्तियों—प्राण आदिसे ढक लेते हैं, तब मूर्खलोग ऐसा समझते हैं कि वे ढक गये; जैसे बादल, कुहरा या ग्रहणके द्वारा अपने नेत्रोंके ढक जानेपर सूर्यको ढका हुआ मान लेते हैं॥ ३३॥
