How is it, then, that Goddess Padmā willingly serves His lotus feet? Alas! The answer must certainly be that her mind has been stolen away by His deceitful words.

जैसा तू काला है, वैसे ही वे भी हैं। तू भी पुष्पोंका रस लेकर उड़ जाता है, वैसे ही वे भी निकले। उन्होंने हमें केवल एक बार—हाँ, ऐसा ही लगता है—केवल एक बार अपनी तनिक-सी मोहिनी और परम मादक अधरसुधा पिलायी थी और फिर हम भोली-भाली गोपियोंको छोड़कर वे यहाँसे चले गये। पता नहीं; सुकुमारी लक्ष्मी उनके चरण-कमलोंकी सेवा कैसे करती रहती हैं! अवश्य ही वे छैल-छबीले श्रीकृष्णकी चिकनी-चुपड़ी बातोंमें आ गयी होंगी। चितचोरने उनका भी चित्त चुरा लिया होगा॥ १३॥
