What austerities must the gopīs have performed! With their eyes they always drink the nectar of Lord Kṛṣṇa’s form, which is the essence of loveliness and is not to be equaled or surpassed. That form is the only abode of beauty, fame and opulence. It is self-perfect, ever fresh and extremely rare.

सखी! पता नहीं, गोपियोंने कौन-सी तपस्या की थी, जो नेत्रोंके दोनोंसे नित्य-निरन्तर इनकी रूप-माधुरीका पान करती रहती हैं। इनका रूप क्या है, लावण्यका सार! संसारमें या उससे परे किसीका भी रूप इनके रूपके समान नहीं है, फिर बढ़कर होनेकी तो बात ही क्या है! सो भी किसीके सँवारने-सजानेसे नहीं, गहने-कपड़ेसे भी नहीं, बल्कि स्वयंसिद्ध है। इस रूपको देखते-देखते तृप्ति भी नहीं होती। क्योंकि यह प्रतिक्षण नया होता जाता है, नित्य नूतन है। समग्र यश, सौन्दर्य और ऐश्वर्य इसीके आश्रित हैं। सखियो! परन्तु इसका दर्शन तो औरोंके लिये बड़ा ही दुर्लभ है। वह तो गोपियोंके ही भाग्यमें बदा है॥ १४॥
