Translation
The Ganges, emanating from the toe of Lord Viṣṇu, purifies the three worlds, the upper, middle and lower planetary systems. Similarly, when one asks questions about the pastimes and characteristics of Lord Vāsudeva, Kṛṣṇa, three varieties of men are purified: the speaker or preacher, he who inquires, and the people in general who listen.

श्रीशुकदेवजीने कहा— भगवान्के लीला-रसके रसिक राजर्षे! तुमने जो कुछ निश्चय किया है, वह बहुत ही सुन्दर और आदरणीय है; क्योंकि सबके हृदयाराध्य श्रीकृष्णकी लीला-कथा श्रवण करनेमें तुम्हें सहज एवं सुदृढ़ प्रीति प्राप्त हो गयी है॥ १५॥ भगवान् श्रीकृष्णकी कथाके सम्बन्धमें प्रश्न करनेसे ही वक्ता, प्रश्नकर्ता और श्रोता तीनों ही पवित्र हो जाते हैं—जैसे गंगाजीका जल या भगवान् शालग्रामका चरणामृत सभीको पवित्र कर देता है॥ १६॥
