गृह्णन्ति नो न पतय: पितरौ सुता वा न भ्रातृबन्धुसुहृद: कुत एव चान्ये । तस्माद् भवत्प्रपदयो: पतितात्मनां नो नान्या भवेद् गतिररिन्दम तद् विधेहि ॥ ३० ॥

Transliteration

gṛhṇanti no na patayaḥ pitarau sutā vā na bhrātṛ-bandhu-suhṛdaḥ kuta eva cānye tasmād bhavat-prapadayoḥ patitātmanāṁ no nānyā bhaved gatir arindama tad vidhehi

Translation

Our husbands, fathers, sons, brothers, other relatives and friends will no longer take us back, and how could anyone else be willing to give us shelter? Therefore, since we have thrown ourselves at Your lotus feet and have no other destination, please, O chastiser of enemies, grant our desire.

हिन्दी टीका-पाठ

ब्राह्मणपत्‍नियोंने कहा— अन्तर्यामी श्यामसुन्दर! आपकी यह बात निष्ठुरतासे पूर्ण है। आपको ऐसी बात नहीं कहनी चाहिये। श्रुतियाँ कहती हैं कि जो एक बार भगवान्‌को प्राप्त हो जाता है, उसे फिर संसारमें नहीं लौटना पड़ता। आप अपनी यह वेदवाणी सत्य कीजिये। हम अपने समस्त सगे-सम्बन्धियोंकी आज्ञाका उल्लंघन करके आपके चरणोंमें इसलिये आयी हैं कि आपके चरणोंसे गिरी हुई तुलसीकी माला अपने केशोंमें धारण करें॥ २९॥ स्वामी! अब हमारे पति-पुत्र, माता-पिता, भाई-बन्धु और स्वजन-सम्बन्धी हमें स्वीकार नहीं करेंगे; फिर दूसरोंकी तो बात ही क्या है। वीरशिरोमणे! अब हम आपके चरणोंमें आ पड़ी हैं। हमें और किसीका सहारा नहीं है। इसलिये अब हमें दूसरोंकी शरणमें न जाना पड़े, ऐसी व्यवस्था कीजिये॥ ३०॥
