Upaniṣad #1 of 10 Mukhya · The Iśā Upaniṣad — the Lord-of-All · Yajur-Veda (Śukla) · 18 mantras · the shortest of the Mukhya · also called Īśāvāsya Upaniṣad
Central Teaching
The PŪRṆA-MANTRA — completeness. Whatever exists in this jagat is pervaded by the Lord (īśāvāsyam idaṁ sarvam). Renounce-and-enjoy together (tena tyaktena bhuñjīthā). The Iśopaniṣad is the SEAL VERSE of the Vidhyamitra substrate · its invocation is in every page footer · its 18 mantras are the founding ślokas of the prasthāna-trayī itself.
Key Śloka
oṁ pūrṇam adaḥ pūrṇam idaṁ pūrṇāt pūrṇam udacyate · pūrṇasya pūrṇam ādāya pūrṇam evāvaśiṣyate
"That is full, this is full. From fullness emerges fullness. Take fullness from fullness — fullness alone remains."
— Īśopaniṣad invocation (śānti-mantra)
🪷 Krishna-Tattva Connection
The Pūrṇa-mantra is Krishna's self-statement: He is the One Full from whom all fullness emerges, in whom all fullness rests, and what remains after every withdrawal is still Pūrṇa. The Vidhyamitra substrate is built on this mantra · every commit, every page, every chart-reading is offered with the recognition that taking-from-completeness does not diminish completeness.
