- According to Hindu mythology, Fridays are considered best to worship Santoshi Maa.

- One can perform Santoshi Maa aarti after bathing, in the morning or evening, at home or temple.
Offerings in Maa Santoshi Aarti
- Before aarti, one should light a ghee diya with an incense stick and offer raw sugar cubes or jaggery with white flowers and roasted chickpeas (chana) to Santoshi Maa.
- During Maa Santoshi aarti, women should wear a dupatta on head and offer kumkum, red chunri cloth and fruits to Santoshi Maa.
- Shankh, claps and bells should be ringing in harmony while Santoshi Maa aarti.
- One should not eat sour, especially if he or she is offering prayers as fast, as sourness indicates negativity and only sweets are offered to the Goddess.
Pooja Vidhi for Santoshi Maa Aarti
- Take a bath on Friday morning and place the idol of the Goddess in the location where the puja has to be performed.
- Place a kalash to mark the commencement of the puja and decorate the area with flowers.
- First, pray to Lord Ganesha for success in all your endeavours, the removal of devastation and evil from life, and the removal of poverty.
- After that, pray to mother Riddhi and Siddhi for wealth and an abundance of gold, pearls, silver, and other stones.
- Fill the kalash with water and lay a small bowl of chana and jaggery as prasad with offerings of flowers to the Goddess.
- Sprinkle the water in every corner of the house and if any water remains in the kalash, pour it into your house’s Tulsi plant.
- After that, give the prasad to everyone who is present at the puja.
- Make sure you don’t eat or touch anything sour throughout the day, such as lemon or curd. If you are undertaking the Santoshi Mata Puja Vidhi, this is one guideline that must be strictly followed; otherwise, the blessings of fasting and all your prayers would be in vain.
Pooja Mantra Or Dhyan Mantra
- The Pooja Mantra or Jaap (Dhyan Mantra) holds significance for the meditating purposes and peace in the spiritual lifestyle of the devotee.
- One may recite the mantra for however long with a rosary (mala) with a count of 108 times or in any other suitable way as long as the purpose is to serve the spiritual path in oneself.
- The mantra can be recited anytime of day and after the completion of the aarti or pooja, one may sit on the aasan in front of the Goddess and recite the jaap mantra for the benefits of inner and mental peace.
- The mantra that should be recited after Santoshi Maa pooja and aarti is “Jai Maa Santoshye Devi Namo Namah”.
- The Dhyaan Mantra for Jaap is “Om Sarvnivarnaay Devibhuta Namah”.
