How to perform a Navagraha puja for maximum results?

Navagraha puja is an ancient Hindu ritual that is performed to appease the gods and bring good luck, fortune, and harmony into one’s life. The ritual involves chanting mantras, offering puja items, and performing certain other activities in order to propitiate the nine planets or grahas. Navagraha puja is believed to ward off bad luck, eliminate obstacles from one’s life path, and attract positive energy. Here are some tips on how to properly perform Navagraha puja for maximum results.

Chant the Right Mantra

The right mantra needs to be chanted when performing a Navagraha puja in order to bring forth maximum results. You can start with “Om Namo Bhagavathe Vasudevaya Namah” and then move onto one of the many mantras that are available for each of the nine planets or grahas. Each mantra should be chanted 108 times while offering flowers and fruits as offerings. It is important to remember that you must never chant any mantras that you don’t understand or have not heard before as incorrect chanting will not bring any benefits.

Offer Puja Items Properly

It is important to offer specific items during a Navagraha puja depending on which planet or graha you are performing the puja for. For instance, if you are performing a puja for Jupiter then it is recommended that you offer yellow flowers along with betel leaves and nuts. Similarly, if you are doing a puja for Mars then it is advised that you offer red flowers along with honey, jaggery (unrefined sugar), ghee (clarified butter) etc. Once all the items have been offered properly then they should be placed on top of an altar in front of your deity along with incense sticks and oil lamps/diyas (earthen lamps). It is also important that these items remain entirely untouched until after the ritual has been completed.

Perform Abhishekam

Once all the items have been offered properly then it is time to perform abhishekam or sprinkling of holy water over them as part of your Navagraha puja ritual. This should be done by taking a small pot filled with holy water or Ganga jal (water from India’s sacred river Ganges) and sprinkling it over each item while chanting appropriate mantras such as “Om Namo Bhagavathe Vasudevaya Namah” or “Om Suryaya Namah” etc., depending upon which planet or graha you are performing the abhishekam for at that moment. After this step has been completed successfully then it is time to pray before your deity while meditating upon its formless formless presence in order to achieve maximum spiritual benefit from your Navagraha puja ritual.

Conclusion

Navagraha Pujas can be immensely beneficial if performed correctly according to traditional Vedic practices. Chanting correct mantras, offering proper offerings such as flowers and fruits according to each planet/graha’s requirements, performing abhishekam with Ganga jal/holy water, and finally praying before your deity are all key components of this powerful ritualistic practice. If done correctly then this ancient Hindu practice can help ward off bad luck, eliminate obstacles from one’s life path and attract positive energy into one’s life – bringing about good luck, fortune, peace & harmony!
